Buhari Silently Acquired N61 Million 2019 Mercedes Benz To Mark Inauguration [Photo]

So many activities headline the second term swearing-in ceremony of President Muhammadu Buhari but one of the other silent things is a new Mercedes Benz car unveiled by the President yesterday.

The 2019 Mercedes-Benz S-Class S 560 was part of the fleet of cars that brought the President to the Eagles Square for the swearing-in ceremony.

Buhari, in company of his wife, Aisha Buhari, were occupants of the new 2019 S560 Benz.

Checks by reporters reveal that the 2019 Mercedes-Benz S-Class S 560 was specially designed for the president.

However, the 2019 Mercedes-Benz S-Class S 560 (Maybach) is being sold at $170,000. It is equivalent to N61,200,000 when converted to Nigerian naira at the rate of N360 per dollar.

The car has special features like Active Parking Assist, Multicontour Front Seats w/Massage Feature, Surround View Camera, Active Lane Change Assist, and Traction control.

The unveiling of the N61m car acquired by President Buhari is coming less than 24 hours after he submitted his asset declaration form at the Code of Conduct Bureau.

The Presidency had said the forms signed by the President and sworn to before a Judge of Abuja High Court, showed no significant changes in assets as declared in 2015 by him.

“There are no new houses, no new bank accounts at home and abroad and there are no new shares acquired,” Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity said.

In 2015, Shehu listed 270 cows, 25 sheep, five horses, birds and economic trees, five houses in Kaduna, Daura, Kano and Abuja, a plot of land each in Port Harcourt and Kano; farms, an orchard, and some cars while he owned a mud house in Daura, as Buhari’s assets.

Minimum Wage: NLC, TUC Give Update On Payment, Make Fresh Demand After Buhari’s Inauguration

The Organised Labour has demanded that the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission (NSIWC), should expedite action on issuance of guidelines for the implementation of the N30, 000 new minimum wage.

Mr. Ayuba Wabba, President, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), and Mr . Bobboi Kaigama, President, Trade Union Congress (TUC), made the call in separate interviews reporters on Wednesday in Abuja.

They spoke after the second term inauguration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to Wabba, the issue of the minimum wage is already a law that must be implemented and since it is now a law, whoever fails to implement it, means he or she has violated the law.

“We are still expecting the template by the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission for it to be released.

“What is expected is that the commission should issue the guidelines quickly and I am sure the committee is working on it,” he said.

Federal Government had on May 15 inaugurated committee to negoatiate the consequential adjustment in salaries arising from the new minimum wage.

The committee, headed by the Head of Service of the federation, Mrs Wilfred Oyo-Ita, has four weeks to complete its assignment

The NLC president also said that the inauguration of the new administration was essentially a consolidation of democracy in Nigeria.

He noted that it was now 20 years of uninterrupted democracy in Nigeria, and therefore, “I think it is consolidation time.’’

“But most importantly, I also think that it is an avenue for Nigerians to have higher expectations for the fact that democracy has spanned for 20 years.

“Our expectations include: infrastructure development, job creation and most importantly, the issue of emerging challenges of security.

“Clearly, it is an opportunity for us to consolidate on all the gains that have been made from 1999 to date under democratic rule.

“We must be mindful of the new challenges, but more importantly, how we respond to the situation because without addressing security, all other issues will still remain a challenge,” he said.

Also Mr Bobboi Kaigama, TUC President, said that the expectations of Nigerian workers’ as the new administration embarks on its next four years journey are high.

“We know that the Technical Committee is still working on the implementation agreement of the consequential adjustment of the National Minimum Wage.

“ We are expecting that in the next one month, a brand new circular for the increase in salaries and wages for Nigerian workers’ would have been released,’’ he said.

He, however, called on the new administration to ensure that they improve tremendously on their performance in the next four years.

“Going forward, they should improve tremendously on their performance in the next four years, we also strongly believe that the security apparatus and infrastructure will be adequately reviewed and restructured.

“We expect that they will improve on our revenue generations, particularly the non-oil sector and we hope that we will also improve on our agricultural sector.

“We also expect that infrastructure, such as roads, the railways as well as the power sector should be rigorously improved upon,” he said.

6 Division Nigerian Army, Confirm Notorious Cultist, Don Wanny Dead (Graphic Photos)

PRESS RELEASE
END OF THE ROAD FOR NOTORIOUS CULTIST KIDNAPPER AND MASS MURDERER- DON WANEY
The authorities of 6 Division Nigerian Army Port Harcourt wish to inform the peace loving people of Omoku in ONELGA in particular, Rivers State and indeed the entire good people of Niger Delta in general that the notorious cult leader, kidnap kingpin and mass murderer Don Waney is dead.
Recall that in the early hours of Monday 20th November 2017, troops of 6 Division Nigerian Army acting on credible information from some patriotic members of the public raided the evil Don Waney enclave in Omoku, ONELGA Rivers State where shocking discoveries of assorted weapons, dynamites, bags of suspected cannabis, full military camouflage uniforms, military boots, military communication radios, 10 human skulls and human bones were discovered. Additionally, in continuation of the operation on Tuesday 21st November 2017, the troops also exhumed decomposing bodies of some of his victims in his shrine in the glaring eyes of the media who were invited to witness first hand.
Perhaps not satisfied with the numerous lives of innocent citizens he took, Don Waney masterminded the despicable New Year day mayhem in Omoku in which he led his notorious gang of criminals to murder 23 peace loving citizens of Omoku when they were returning from Cross Over Service at about 1:30am on Monday 1st January 2018.
Intense surveillance activities on him and his gang by the Department of State Services (DSS) Rivers State Command revealed that after committing these atrocities he relocated to a neighbourhood within Enugu Town  in Enugu State where he rented an apartment and started living among unsuspecting neighbours within the community.
From the relative safety of his newly-rented apartment, Don Waney was already perfecting plans to wrought another mayhem in Omoku in which he was to attack churches, schools, Army and Police locations and the RESIDENCES of the generality of the already traumatized people of Omoku. However, following his successful geo-location to his new Enugu neighbourhood hideout by the DSS Rivers State Command, a combined team of troops of 82 Division Nigerian Army Enugu and personnel of DSS Rivers State Command raided the hideout to arrest him and his other accomplices. Incidentally on sensing that the combine team were closing in on his residence, Don Waney, his Second- in- Command (Ikechukwu Adiele) and another gang member (Lucky Ode) attempted to escape through the back exit of the apartment and were shot down by the eagle eyed troops in the process. One of them died on the spot while the other 2 who sustained gun shot wounds eventually died while being evacuated for medical attention.
The remains of Don Waney and his cohorts were brought back to Port Harcourt Rivers State by the combine team and handed over to the Rivers State Police Command for further action.
To this end, the authorities of 6 Division Nigerian Army Port Harcourt wishes to use this opportunity to extend their condolences to the families of all the victims of the evil Don Waney and his gang. We also wish to solicit your further cooperation in volunteering useful information to track down and arrest the remaining gang members so as to bring them to justice for a peaceful, prosperous and secured Omoku community, ONELGA, Rivers State and the entire Niger Delta region.
You are kindly requested to disseminate this information to the general public. Thank you for your usual cooperation.
